Community Services

Annually since 2000, ROAR has placed 250-400 dogs and cats in loving, forever homes. To-date, over 6,000 pets are living the lives they so deserve. Working with rescues in other states,we have been able to save neglected, homeless and unwanted dogs and cats from euthanasia.

Each adoption supports our mission by providing every animal with the “5 Freedoms

  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
  2. Freedom from discomfort
  3. Freedom from pain, injury or disease
  4. Freedom to express normal behavior
  5. Freedom from fear and distress.

In addition to these Freedoms, our staff and volunteers provide hundreds of hours of enrichment to enhance the unique bond between humans and animals.

SURRENDER

We often receive more surrender requests than adoption inquiries, but our goal is to accommodate as many animals as possible while ensuring they have enough space and a healthy environment. Please exhaust all possibilities before considering surrendering your pet, as it should be a last resort. Surrendering a pet is a challenging and heart-wrenching experience for them. Please note that once your pet is adopted, you will not have visitation rights or receive information about the new owner. Before making this decision, please be fully aware of these conditions.

PET PANTRY

We provide food and supplies to our community from contributions donated by local organizations and individuals. We distribute these in our own food pantry located within the Donofrio Family Animal Shelter.

Generous donations from the community are made available through our Pet Food Pantry; pet food and necessities are provided to local residents in need so they are able to keep beloved pets in their homes and reduce surrenders to area shelters.
